Barefooted in the sun.

Yet another warm day, boiling warm I'd say and for us with hay-fever allergies, the past few days has been like a prison. Especially so for those who can't even move outside their houses. My time outside the house is limited to a few bouts per "session" before I need to go inside and take a shower, and get away from the pollen. And you feel in a way a bit down because you really would love to be outside the entire day and enjoy it to the utmost, but by doing so you'd get side-effects such as difficulty breathing, itchy and runny eyes and noses, soar throats and of course the immensely drain of energy.

Though despite my allergy I went out in the world today, I read in the fantastic book; The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova while having the sun licking my skin.
If you haven't read it, go buy it today. Especially if you're interested in travelling and vampires.

And of course, what I meant to talk about today, was my excursion out on the lake. Even though I had little or no energy, or so it felt like, I decided to freshen up by go out on the lake in my kayak. Just "paddling" out there, without a way to head in mind, I ended up on the other side of the lake.. Well sort of anyway, and I went ashore, and what did I find? I found my childhood-paradise! I always wanted to return to that place, because the colours of the grass and the moss, the placings of the trees and the sound of the waves hitting the rocks never left my mind. Peaceful and quiet, filled with areas where the blue-berries will spring up when that time comes and tons of clovers, sadly I didn't find any clovers of four. Walking around there barefoot, made me so calm, so relaxed and so elevated! I had finally found the place again. The area around the lake I live by is huge, and I always thought I knew where the place was whenever I went looking for it by bike or by foot, but I never found it until today.
I must say, this has been another good day. I'll return there with the camera when my sister comes home from Tromsø on wednesday. Sadly, but truly, I don't have a camera of my own. I should fix that at some point.

However, it is time for feeding I believe, so I'll pack up my things and get moving.

Have a nice evening!

Mutants are our future!

Late night web-surfing can result into finding amusing articles. I got linked This by my friend Jeremy I'm not sure if I would have liked to have been accidentally turned into a super-human mutant that would save the world. For one, there'd be too many of them around the globe, and I bet most of them would reside in the Western World as we know it today. So how much would it take before they start disagreeing about what's in the best interests of the world? So, then instead of having George Bush' maniac attempt to clear the world from garbage we'd have mutants causing damage on the scale of a big hurricane or volcano outbreak, due to their massive nuclear powers!

I was planning to write a bit more, but looking at the clock, I see that I've run out of time. I'm to pick up two friends and tally-ho out of here and go BBQ'ing in the warm summer sun!

My previous blog disappeared, and was probably deleted through the cleaning of the older blogs. It happens, but thanks to Ann-mi I got recovered all my files, so all my previous posts are up and running. And I'll be posting here from now on. Not that much of a difference in the link, it's a small l instead of a capitol L in the http://lil.efx2blogs.com

Anyway, enjoy your evening!

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

{ 200804, July 1, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }
Yesterday came with a bang! Literally. Though a soft one if I should make a note of the sound. I was at work, and about 5 minutes after I had picked up my kiddo, I crash my car. I'll be honest. I like to say that, because it sounds so much more dramatic than what actually happened. I was backing down on a small road with a bit of bends here and there, I paid too much attention to my passenger seat mirror and the back of the car that I slid off the road and crashed sideways into a tree. That also sounds more dramatic than it was.. I wrecked the signal light and the mirror on the driver side along with getting a huge ugly bump between my door and my wheel. I think I got a bit of a shock though, because it drained all of my energy. Though I took it all with a cool head. The kiddo in the back-seat just said "bang.". So the week did end with a great finale, but more so for my wallet than anything else.

However, on to something different. I know from friends abroad, that Norwegians are looked upon as a bit weird once in a while.. So I thought I'd just link up a picture of how creative we get when it rains and we really don't have an umbrella [Most of us, from my city, doesn't use an umbrella anyway, they tend to get destroyed in the wind].

I should however toss in some love news to credit my title well enough, but there's no update to be made on that front. Though for those of you who don't recognise the title as a movie, go rent it, download it, buy it! It's an amusing and fun movie. So chop, chop. Go get it done. It's worth it!

Uh - oh my boy lollipop!

Today I happened across the news that the crew behind the Firefly series still are working to get a Season Two going. If you were a Firefly and Serenity fan I strongly urge [ and almost force] you to go send in your information so they can show the producers how much the series is actually wanted! So, go-go! There really is no excuse. And even if you don't really care about the series I think you should go sign up to do a small favour of the day to a bunch of fans out there. I just simply love the series, and would love for a second season to come out.

He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor / Stood up to the man and he gave him what-for / Our love for him now ain't hard to explain / The Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne!

But on the other side, I've reminded my self of how much I simply love Ireland. If I ever get the chance I'll live there for a year and be totally happy and in love with the scenery, people, language and what the heck, just the entire damn thing. I looked up a name for my sister's new cat [ Which is to be named Frøya [Freya] and I happened across the name of Àine an Irish Goddess of the old days. So I started searching around the net and ecstatically hopped upon Amazon.co.uk and have now realised I need to save up a lot of cash so I can buy books upon myths, historical events and people and legends from both the Celtic world and the Norse mythology. I can't wait to get my books. Hopefully I'll be able to buy a fair share of them when I go to London next month with a friend. Have to search about and see if there's any bookshops around which specialises in myths and the like. And oh! I bought some forest green yarn.. Now I just have to figure out what to make of it, any ideas? I'll be crocheting. Have a happy Tuesday!

Without further explanation: I'm really happy at this moment. Extremely tired, but so happy!

Status: Missing in Action!

I'll contribute this post to Svarte-Per, my sister's cat. It's been about a month since I last saw him. He had this uncanny ability to sneak up and into my room and hide. Either under a bunch of clothes that was yet to be put inside my wardrobe, or upon the bed underneath a blanket. He was black with a tiny white spot on his chest [ not belly! ], and after my cat passed away he started to gain some extra weight as well as a major personality change. From being a scared and people shy cat who would purr at you if you just looked at him, to be cuddly and approachable as well as extremely picky about what to eat and not to eat. He tended not to protest if I decided to squeeze him when I needed a hug. I miss him. But I doubt he'll ever come back. My theories is that either he knew he was sick and went to find a place to die in peace, or the wolverines or foxes took him for dinner. But I hope it was just old age. He was a peculiar little cat, but a wonderful one.
So bonski to Svarte Per!

[I swear, one of these days I'll put up more colourful pictures! ]

Last week.

{ 190750, July 1, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }
7th of January this year I started an intern ship at an elementary school, in a group with mentally disabled and physically disabled children. I was supposed to be there for eight weeks, well, those eight weeks turned in to be five months and thirteen days. And this upcoming Friday is my last day. I'll be sad to leave, I've really enjoyed my time here. Though I have my future somewhat planned it's still slightly uncertain. It all kind of depends on the job interview I was on today. I applied for an assistant position at the same school I've been at for the past five months. I like it there, and I believe it'll help me finish my education in the end as well. If I don't get the job [ Full time or part time ] I'll go back to the school bench. Some say it's too late to send in an application to the Schools, but I've arranged for things to be fixed. So this week will be filled with paper work, good-bye dinner, work and then.. it's St. Hans. Or more commonly known as Midsummer's Eve. A friend of mine is coming up with her father to my home city and staying over. So I'll have a good time with them this week-end and then.. it's holiday time! I bought the plane tickets to London today, I still haven't booked a place to stay at though. But I'm sure Lucien and I will find some place to stay at. However, it has been a long week [ last week that is], and a long day.. so I will turn on World of Warcraft and relax some.

Photoshopping!

{ 190742, July 1, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }

Late last night my computer decided to work against me. Apparently it's full, So I need to do a clean up, and I'll say, I'm not looking forward to do that. I've decided to put it into the shop though, to get a new fan so it wont make such a loud and annoying buzzing sound as well as fixing my usb ports.. I could go on and on about how frustrated I am about my computer at this moment, but I think I wont. I just finished a picture for a good friend of mine. It's a character portrait of a barbarian from Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. Messing around on the controls on Photoshop I decided that after you're done with a picture, shading, structure background and all that... by using layers that is, you can get a rather amusing looking result when you remove the essence of a drawing. So I'll link it up here.

Creepy no? I think so at least, maybe I should make a series of strange looking ghost like this. Big meeting today by the way, some insults and some compliments, but I took it all with a smile. The future isn't closed and locked behind doors after all. If I don't get this job I'll be allowed to return to studies even though the deadline of applying for a school was ended months and months ago. I'll just have to consider my self privilidged in this, and by the weather gods I do! Now, to see if my new-learned html codes have worked!

Birthdays and upcoming new layout!

{ 190723, July 1, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }
Another day goes by, and I must say the time really flies by. I feel like it was only last week I started my intern ship which was in the beginning only going to last for 8 weeks, but turned out to last for 5 glorious months. I have to admit, that in the past 5 [soon 6] months that's gone by, a lot has changed and more changes are to come, with some melancholy I think back on the old me. I'll probably miss the old me from time to time, but I'm happy with the decision I've made and are soon going to make official, me going to start working up on applying to the Teacher's-school. On other notes, the weather gods decided it was time for the rough-mannered people of the north to feel the wet tingles of rain running through our hair and dance upon our faces.

I can't say I mind, and neither does the firemen. The last few days before the turn of the weather we had some fires running wild in my City and it's surrounding area's. At least one of the fires could have done incredible amount of damage, but thankfully got under control. My layout on this blog'll change soon, as I'm having Ann-Mi help me create a new one that kind of fit my personality more than the current one. So yay to her and thank you so much! And at last, but not least, I'd like to say Happy Birthday to two friends of mine; André [ I know it's on saturday, but I'm not sure if I'll post then, better be safe than sorry. ] And also to Gavin who is the father to my child [ To those who didn't know this.. I'm sorry to spring it on you like this, and to those who live near by.. I hope my pregnancy-mood wont affect you too much!]. Hope you had/will have a great day!

A Beautiful Day.

{ 180632, July 1, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }
Yes, for how else can I explain this day? Waking up in the early mornings taking a cold, wakening shower, getting dressed in somewhat summerly fashion [ Sadly I don't own that many summer clothes for hot searing days. I should get some, but money is still yet an issue], eating a nice breakfast with some warm cinnamon tea. Driving off early to work, and having a long day by the ocean at work together with the children I'm working with [ For those who don't know: I'm working as an assistant in a primary school, my children are.. special. ]. To later meet up with a dear friend of mine whom I drive home to her and to another place she's currently staying at. That being a rather emotional experience for me, whether it was a good or bad emotional experience.. is still yet to be decided. We sat in the sun on a bench by the ocean. Watching the boats roaming around, talking and I couldn't help notice two of the mountains far off in the distance still being covered in snow. Which I found amusing considering it's been between 25-30 degrees Celsius here for the past two weeks. Driving home to change clothes to something lighter and sit down in front of the computer for an hour to chat with my friends. One whom is getting married next summer in Sweden [ She and her husband-to-be is both Swedish], and I'm invited. I can't tell you how delightful I am to be able to be a part of one of their most important days of their lives. Talking to her about wedding gowns, flowers, the party and other things concerning this just fills me with utmost excitement and happiness I could dance! Though I should note, I'm not one who usually get excited about weddings, I'm not one of those girls who know exactly how her wedding will be since I was four years old. But talking to Emmi about this, seeing her so happy. It's unexplainable how much joy it brings. Then of course the day concludes [ and the evening starts] with a splendid meal! I made my self some spicy wok with a bit of chicken in it [ I don't normally think the sauces are spicy enough, but this one most certainly was. Great in flavour, taste and hotness.]. With a glass of white wine upon a table prepared with white table cloth, really a beautiful sight. But what was even more beautiful sight was the scenery around me. The sun on it's way down behind the mountain top, the fresh-water lake being dark blue and clear as the pale blue sky. The smells of summer, forest and my dinner drifting to my nose and listening to the Cuckoo in the [not so] distant mountain side. Only thing that would have made the meal complete would be either a beloved friend or lover accompany me. I cannot possible call this day anything but a beautiful day. It truly has been. And yet still, the evening is on it's way with many more hours to enjoy and just live through til the night comes along and sleep with it. I wish you all, a perfect evening.

Summer's Heat.

[12/6/08]
This is my first entry of yet another attempt to create a blog. This time however, I'll do it more seriously than I have in the past. To all my friends out there who might read this one: Hello! And to all you who I don't know, or don't know me that happens to accidental come by: Greetings, stranger! I am sure it'll take some time before I get everything in order on this page, come style and photographs and such. And to be completely honest with you, I don't have all that much time to sit down at once and figgure it out in one evening. Though I'll ask Ann-Mi for help I think. But back to my title of this entry, the summer is here, or I guess it has been for a while. And I tell you, it is searing hot. It's strange how the summers can change from year to year. Last year's summer we would wear jumpers and jackets in the evenings and the mornings due to the cold weather, now however... Just by thinking of going out of the sweet and refreshing shower makes you sweat like a pig. And joy for the hay fever. A voice inside me cries for the weather gods to let the tears of the sky fall upon us for a day or two, then back to this nice lovely weather. But I shan't complain, soon enough we'll get rain, and when we do.. we'll get a lot of it. But, I'll put on some sandals and go back out. It's time to hit the water. Have a pleasant day!
